(no subject)

So I finished Deathly Hallows, though my reading of it wasn't nearly as detailed as it should have been (I just couln't take the pressure)

First of all, the epilogue.... UGhhhhhh!!!! Deep down I always knew that Harry would end up with Ginny, but seeing it on the page just makes me want to hex someone... preferably Ginny. I know H/D could never happen in canon, but the Ginny is just horrible! Couldn't it have been Hermione or Luna or anyone who isn't Ginny.

Overall, it's a wonderful book, and I might post some more thoughts about it some other time, when I'm not homesick as hell, but I just have to say that I'm a little disappointed with Draco's role. I'm glad he didn't die or turn out to be pure evil, but I did expect him to play a bigger part and for him and Harry to make amends. But I suppose that's the downside of getting so involved in fanfic. The characters we create as fanfic authors/readers come to life in our own minds and end up someone totally different than the orinal author intended them to be.

I don't know why this bothers me. It just feels as if the last book closed up all of the windows of opportunity I saw after HBP. Hopefully, I just feel this way because I'm sad to see the series end and I'll get over it soon.

....And poor Hedwig!!!

So despite missing my family/friends/pets like hell, I'm so happy to be in Germany. It's beautiful, and there's so much more to see.IT's just my luck, though, that the day of my flight, I got sick for the first time in two years. I still don't feel very well. Tomorrow I have to go to Berlin and check in the the student apartments. I'm really not looking forward to doing schoolwork during the summer, but at least I'll get to travel on the weekends. I also extended my stay by a few days so I can visit Paris and London.

I hope you're all enjoying your summer and your book sevens!

Ah, but Harry did get to finger Draco's wand. And save the world with it! *lol* I do agree with you that I had hoped that Draco would take a more definitive step towards the Light, and that there had been more resolution of him and Harry's relationship. I would have loved a scene where Harry told Draco that he had witnessed what had occurred on the Astronomy Tower that fateful night.
*also cries for Hedwig. and Fred.*

Get your mind out of the gutter, LOL.

YEah, the wand thing was grea:) but a better resolution between the two of them would have made my day.

I was expecting a bit more drama concerning Draco's situation as well.

In my world, the epilogue never happened. Heh.

I'll continue writing H/D. Most of what I've written has always been AU, anyway. *shrugs*

Enjoy your time in Europe! *envies*
