Let me clarify, I don't think Draco got off one bit on the pain in the story, but the Draco in my mind tends to. Poor boy's probably all torn and blood since he only got a bit of saliva as lubrication!
Actually, it makes perfect sense that Draco succumbed to this curiosity when you explain it like that. Perhaps this encounter made him even more desperate to succeed in his task for the Dark Lord.
