On another note, it seems that the forces of the universe are preventing me from carrying a watch. For the past few years, I have not been able to wear watches for more than a few days before they just stopped working. I've had all sorts. Some were cheap, but I also had a Gucci and a gold watch my mom gave me for my birthday a few years ago. The expensive ones I'd keep bringing back to the jewelers, and they'd do whatever to make them work again. A few days later, they'd stop. Eventually, I have up and just didn't wear a watch. But a while ago I decided to take my Gucci and the gold one back to the jeweler. On one they replaced the battery, the other supposedly started working as soon as they opened the back. Well, I wore the Gucci one for a whole three days before it stopped working at 9:15 today. Don't know about the other one, but I suspect it'll stop working a few days after I put it on. Am I radioactive or something? LOL

Wow, that's weird. Perhaps you were abducted by aliens, and they implanted one of those devices in the back of your neck, and it interferes with watches. *grins*

That's seems very likely.

I have exactly the same problem, and I gave up wearing a watch in high school.

My watches are always late. I was able to explain it away with the theory that the quartz crystals need body temperature to provide the correct frequency and since my wrist is a bit on the thin side, the back surface of the watch doesn't have full contact with my skin and cannot absorb enough heat. No idea about this thing of yours, but if you search the net, I'm sure you'll find something that can explain it (away).

OTOH, I knew someone whose sweat somehow corroded the metal of the watch and that's why they stopped working but that can be seen on the watch and it takes more than just a couple of days.
