It's time to return to Hogwarts! Come help us kick off the new school year by leaving a prompt or reccing your favorite autumn-themed art and fic. Any season-appropriate art or fic you have, old or new, is also welcome here.

Since a lot of us seem to be struggling to get our Travel Fair, Glompfest, and other fics done, I had the crazy idea that we might want to get together for some word wars. I'll be around most of the weekend, trying to write. Let me know if you'd be interested :)

I just realized that I've been on LJ way too long not to have my own community! Since I love Halloween and Christmas, and they're coming up, I thought, "Why not start a holiday-themed H/D comm?"

Right now, I'm thinking of having a few prompts per week for the month leading up to each holiday (Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day, Easter, Beltane (am I missing anything?)), but I'm also taking suggestions right here in this post. There wouldn't be any length requirements; anything from 100-100k words would be welcome.

*Edit: I'm leaning towards something like H/D seasons, which would include all the holidays but still have seasonal prompts throughout the year.

Wow, what a week it's been. I left home feeling happier than I have in a long time, and returned a miserable wreck. Traveling with my family, especially my mother, is very difficult. LDWS was just the straw that broke the camel's back. Looking back now, I think I overreacted big time. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect to win it, but I hoped to make it at least through the first three rounds. I was part of a very talented group, and if any of the remaining participants were to make as big a deal out of being eliminated as I did, I would think they're crazy--because they're all BRILLIANT. So I'm pretty much over that, even though I would have loved to play a bit longer.

Anyway, for anyone who is interested: I bring pictures! Now, I got a new camera and lens JUST before I left and never got a chance to learn to use them, so these aren't great.

In other news, I leaving for Florida in a couple hours! I went spray tanning for the first time ever tonight, and I forgot to put the barrier lotion on my palms and the soles of my feet, so now both are brown. I am such a retard. *headdesk*

I really hoped to have updates on Shaken and Stirred and The Black Mirror for you before leaving, but unfortunately I didn't have time :( I will probably write during the evenings while I'm away, though, so expect a lot of fic when I return.

And yay, I didn't get voted off H/D LDWS! Wish me luck for next week, yes?

I have way too much stuff on my plate to play at lokifan's comment party, but she asked me to, and I am a good LJ friend. untitled. Based loosely on her second prompt and typed up on my iPhone during lunch...

I've taken on way too many projects for this month. My hp_ssc_fest fic is due tonight. It's only a ~2,000 word long PWP, but I've been working on it all weekend, and it's going nowhere. I'm at about 1,650 words now, and every single sentence is SO PAINFUL. I'm just not in a smut-writing mood, I guess. I also have to write my H/D LDWS drabble tonight because, knowing my luck, I'll have to work late tomorrow.

I have a plotty monster of a Travel Fair fic due at the end of the month. Wordcount to date: 0/~20,000. Shaken and Stirred and The Black Mirror don't have due dates, but I wanted to keep updating them regularly so that I don't lose readers (or inspiration).

*hyperventilates*
